Mopani South East TVET College Prospectus 2025 – See Details Below:
Our History
Mopani South East TVET College was established in 2003, when Phalaborwa Technical, Sir Val Duncan Technical and Mapulaneng Technical merged as part of the National transformation process that transformed Higher Education landscape in South Africa.
These technical colleges then became campuses offering a variety of programmes in Business and Engineering Studies.
The name came as a result of the geographical positioning of the institution “Mopani” represented the District, “South” represented Mapulaneng Campus which was on the South of Mopani District Municipality and “East” represented Sir Val Duncan and Phalaborwa which were both on the Eastern side of the District.
In 2006, the College de-merged with Mapulaneng Campus located in Bushbuckridge due to demarcation and Bushbuckridge was transferred to Mpumalanga Province.

The college now has two campuses and a Satelite Campus namely; Sir Val Duncan Campus, Phalaborwa Campus and Mošate Hotel School. Sir Val Duncan campus offers Engineering programmes, Phalaborwa Campus offers Business Studies whilst Mošate Hotel School School offers occupational programmes.
