ABOUT THE COMPANY – ISFAP
The Ikusasa Student Financial Aid Programme (ISFAP) was formed with the aim of financially assisting poor and middle-income university students to afford their tertiary fees. Contributions are received from donors within the private and public sector – Woolworths, Liberty, Coronation, Discovery, Hollard, Sanlam, Sasol, Sappi, Mondi, Nedbank, Standard Bank and Volkswagen to name a few.
ABOUT THE ISFAP BURSARY PROGRAMME – FIELDS COVERED
ISFAP is inviting students from the “missing middle”, to apply for bursary funding for the 2022 academic year. Bursaries will be awarded for undergraduate studies within the following fields, at the following institutions:

MORE ABOUT THE ISFAP BURSARY PROGRAMME – COVERAGE VALUE
The bursary will provide cover for the following expenses: tuition fees, books, study materials, accommodation, meals and a monthly stipend.
Bursary recipients will also receive the following support: social support, life skills training, academic support (including extended programmes; academic development and tutorials), mentoring for the first year, medical support, tracking of academic performance via the online student platform and access to dedicated programme managers.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ISFAP BURSARY
Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):
- You must be a South African citizen
- You must have completed Matric
- You must be registered to study towards one of the aforementioned qualifications (undergraduate studies only)
- You must be registered to study at one of the following tertiary institutions for the 2022 academic year: University of Johannesburg, University of Pretoria, University of the Witwatersrand, University of Cape Town, Stellenbosch University, University of KwaZulu-Natal, Nelson Mandela University, Walter Sisulu University, University of Venda, Tshwane University of Technology or Central University of Technology
- You must be starting your first degree in the 2022 academic year
- You must have a family household income NOT more than R600 000 per annum
- You must be in financial need and require funding for your studies
- You must NOT be in receipt of any other study funding (including NSFAS)
HOW TO APPLY FOR THE ISFAP BURSARY

Students who pass the bursary “pre-application” stage, will receive an email requesting them to submit their supporting documentation. Candidates should have the following supporting documentation ready for submission (the submission of these documents is compulsory – if any items are missing, your application may be disqualified):
- Personal information (name, surname, email address and contact number)
- ID document (certified copy)
- Matric certificate or Matric latest results (certified copy)
- Proof of registration at one of these above institutions for 2022 (on tertiary letterhead)
- Proof of household proof of income (latest payslips if employed, affidavit if unemployed, proof of any grants or pension if applicable)
- Confirmation that you are not in receipt of any other funding for the 2022 academic year
CLOSING DATE FOR THE ISFAP BURSARY
31 October 2021.
