Job Description

• To establish standards and norms for the St Alban’s College Cricket Club and a coaching structure that will enable boys with potential to play professional cricket to reach their goal and to allow each boy at St Alban’s College to improve his skills to the best of his ability.
• To provide the vision and strategy for the Club to grow and be competitive amongst like-minded schools.
• To develop coaching schemes that will allow each coach to do so to the best of his/her ability and in so doing each boy will benefit from the coaching structure.
• To promote the game of cricket at St Alban’s College, to celebrate the success of the boys and to actively seek to learn about each and every cricketer.
• To promote the game of cricket amongst our parents and to make them feel welcome when they attend matches.
• To develop initiatives for cricket that will allow us to “add value” to the broader community and seek ways of enhancing the cricket brand and reputation of St Alban’s College by way of festivals and development clinics.
• To add value to the provincial structures and to promote St Alban’s College through these structures.
• To devise match and practice schedules to ensure that all cricketers receive opportunities to develop their game and experience the full range of facilities.
• To provide reports for assemblies that focus on the significant individual and team achievements of the previous weeks.
• To teach as a member of the Physical Education Department; this may include other activities and sports.
• To coach the 1st XI and take a direct interest in the performance of all teams in the Club.
• To offer one-on-one coaching with those boys who show ambition and determination to improve their game and develop a winter cricket coaching program to enable boys to improve technically during the winter.
• To help organize and coordinate cricket festivals here at the College with the help of the Director of Sport.
