The Big Save group specialises in the trade of food and liquor in the wholesale and retail sectors of South Africa. Big Save has 11 outlets and first started in 1989 as Waltloo Wholesalers. Since 1995, Big Save has become Gauteng’s most favoured Cash and Carry provider, providing the best products to their customers and across many brands. Big Save offers products in bulk volumes and smaller quantities all under one roof, ensuring that both their wholesale and individual clients’ needs are met.
Big Save has offices in the greater Tshwane area, such as Waltloo, Mabopane, Hammanskraal, Tshwane Market Wholesaler, Evaton, as well as Marble Hall in Limpopo.
Big Save also has adjacent liquor stores and offers products such as house and homeware items and motor spares. This is done to add more value to the lives of their employees, customers, and the overall community.
DETAILS ABOUT THE LEARNERSHIP PROGRAMME:
Location: Pretoria, Gauteng
Duration: 12 months
Salary: R3 000
Big Save is offering a Learnership opportunity to young individuals interested in joining the Wholesale and Retail industry. Youth who have completed Matric may apply for the 12 month learner programme.
The programme will be based at the following Gauteng offices:
Marble Hall (Limpopo)
Evaton
Waltloo Pretoria
Pretoria CBD
Hammanskraal
Mabopane
Key Performance Areas of the Programme:
- Ensuring that products are pulled and packed based on daily orders
- Ensuring that picked stock is stacked in an arrangement that is neat to avoid and decrease damage
- Keeping all pallets neat and tidy
- Ensuring that all customer orders are met timeously
- Ensuring that all products are organised, separated, and in good rotation
- Frequently monitor product’s quality and report any problems to mitigate safety issues
- Ensuring that any and all mechanical problems are reported
- Ensuring that you provide excellent customer service and follow work safe practices
- Ensuring that a sanitary, clean, and safe work area is maintained
- Performing all duties that are assigned to you
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:
Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria – failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:
- Must be a South African citizen
- Must have completed Matric (NSC)
- Must NOT have a criminal record
- Must be unemployed
- Must be 18 to 29 years old
- Must be able to commit to the full duration of the programme
- Must have excellent communication skills
- Must be able to handle and keep a calm composure when dealing with difficult individuals
- Must have problem-solving capabilities
- Must have excellent numerical skills
- Must be a fast learner
- Must have 0-2 years of working experience
