A BRIEF ON THE MINISTRY OF YOUTH DEVELOPMENT, ABIA STATE.
BACKGROUND
The ministry came on board in June 2005 as a ministry of the social sector by Executive fiat of the Executive Governor, His Excellency Dr Orji Uzo Kalu (MON). By this action, the Governor made a loud statement and set in motion her desire to invest in the future of not only Abia State but also the nation; by giving a closer attention to the most precious resource, the Youths who are the leaders in their own right and partners-in-progress with society.
VISION
To empower Nigerian youth to become self-reliant and socially responsible.
MISSION
To provide a sustainable framework for integrated planning and collaboration among stakeholders for the development of policies and programmes, laws and other initiatives that promote and enhance the development of the Nigerian youth and the protection of their interests.

National Youth Service Corps (NYSC)
Citizenship and Leadership Training Centre.
